STD X SAMPLE QUESTIONS SOLVED

 3.   Imagine that you are Swami's granny and narrate how Swami became a hero overnight.

I have a grandson named Swami.  I like him very much. He sleeps beside me. He is afraid of darkness.

One night his father was reading the newspaper. He came upon a news report of a village lad who fought with a tiger. Soon he told Swami that courage is more important than strength and age. He also told Swami to sleep alone in the office -room to prove his courage

However, he slept beside me. But his  father forced him to sleep alone in the office-room. He was very afraid. He asked permission to leave the door open

He slept under the bench because he felt it to be a safer place. He had many fearful thoughts. He had nightmares too. He dreamed that a tiger was chasing him. He felt that the devil would carry him away. He felt something moving. So he attacked it. He bit his leg. That person yelled in pain. He fell on the furniture. There was a great noise. My son, the cook the servant--everyone came running.

Swami had caught a notorious house-breaker. We called the police. They congratulated him. At school also his classmates praised him. Thus Swami became  a hero overnight.

4.  "Cowards die many times before they actually die." Examine this statement in the light of the lesson 'The Hero '

In this passage we find that Swami became a hero by chance. He was a coward. He was afraid of darkness  and did not have the courage to sleep alone at night.

Swami usually slept with his grandmother. But one day Swami's father told him to sleep alone in his office room. He said that courage is everything ,strength and age are not important. But Swami disputed with this theory.

Swami tried his best to escape from sleeping alone. Finally, he had to sleep alone. Every moment of the night he was facing death. He had many nightmares He dreamed that a tiger was chasing him. He thought that the devil would carry him away. Thus Swami behaved like a typical coward. He was so afraid that he felt that he would die that night. Thus it is true that cowards die many times before they actually die.
